Often mistaken with interpreting*, translation is the process of converting a written message from a source language to a target language. The purpose of this process is to ensure that the meaning of the original text remains unchanged in the target language.
*Note that interpreters work with oral messages, while translators work with written texts.
Sandrine Biard is the founder of Vistaword.
